When you’re on the move, you need a sound processor that can keep up with you wherever you go.

Meet Bridget T., a Cochlear™ Kanso® recipient and Cochlear Americas employee, who says her sound processor is light and comfortable enough to wear all day—whether she’s at work, in a yoga class, or even running a marathon. Here’s how Bridget maintains an active lifestyle with the Cochlear Kanso Sound Processor.

Her journey to Cochlear

Growing up, Bridget was able to get by with the hearing she had, but a few years ago she noticed a dip in her hearing and decided to look into receiving a cochlear implant.

She had surgery in October 2016 and received the Kanso Sound Processor a few months later.

“I’m grateful I went with Cochlear,” Bridget said. “Their customer service is incredible.”

A low-maintenance option

Bridget said the Kanso Sound Processor’s simplicity and discreet style makes it easy for her to turn it on and go throughout her day with no worries.

“I consider myself to be a pretty low-maintenance person,” she said. “When I saw the Kanso and how low-maintenance it was— one piece, and you don’t worry about cables or coils— I knew it was the right choice for me.”

Better hearing with SCAN*

Bridget said her favorite feature is how the Kanso Sound Processor automatically adjusts her settings based on the sounds around her.

The Kanso Sound Processor features dual microphones and SmartSound® iQ with SCAN*, which allows the sound processor to automatically adjust to different listening environments.

“I just love the fact that I don’t have to worry about stepping into a different environment and having to change something on my remote all the time,” she said. “It’s super low-maintenance and I don’t always have to have my remote with me to adjust—it’s hands-free. I love it.”

An active lifestyle

Bridget enjoys running cross-country and participating in marathons. She said the Kanso Sound Processor is perfect for active individuals because it’s small, light, and stays anchored in place.

“People are constantly asking me, ‘Doesn’t it fall off?’” she said. “The answer is no, not at all. It’s about finding the best magnet strength. I ran a 5k race yesterday and it didn’t move.”

She said the Kanso Sound Processor is great for other kinds of exercise, too.

“I do yoga quite a bit,” Bridget said. “If I’m in the downward-facing dog pose, I’ve found the Kanso Sound Processor just stays on better, as long as you don’t brush it off with your arm on accident. You don’t have an earpiece that moves around all the time.”

Bridget even wore her processor when stand-up paddle boarding. She used the retention hair clip for extra security.

“My processor stayed on really well— it was great!” she said.
