As soon as we finish our pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving dinner, the holiday shopping season kicks-off with Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday. An important day during this time is also #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving back to others in your community.

#GivingTuesday is recognized the Tuesday right after Thanksgiving. People around the world give donations and volunteer their time to nonprofits and charitable organizations.

Cochlear Gives Back

Cochlear’s mission to help people hear and be heard is our inspiration for all that we do every day. It is our great privilege to support organizations that align with our mission.

These non-profit groups help people navigate hearing loss and offer emotional and educational support to make a positive impact in the lives of so many. We support the valuable work they, and their volunteers, do. A few of these groups include:

  • The Hearing Loss Association of America, an invaluable resource and advocate for the over 48 million Americans with hearing loss.
  • Alexander Graham Bell Association, helping families, health care providers and education professionals understand childhood hearing loss and the importance of early diagnosis and intervention.
  • Songs for Sound provides free hearing screenings to thousands of adults and children each year across the U.S. from their mobile hearing clinic.

These are just a few of the worthy groups that we are proud to support today, and every day, throughout the year. Visit Cochlear In Your Community to learn more about the ways that we’re working with our partners to make a difference in the lives of those who have hearing loss.

Cochlear volunteers also selflessly give their time and talents to support others. Whether they’re sharing hearing loss experiences and education with people online, in person, or by volunteering at organized events, Cochlear volunteers help people in countless interactions. They walk, email, call, write and hug, all to make the hearing loss journey more hopeful for people and their loved ones.

How You Can Give Back on #GivingTuesday

Many people make financial donations to charities at this time of year, but giving takes many forms. If you are inspired to offer your time and talents, there are so many organizations, in addition to the three mentioned above, that are doing worthy and beneficial work.

Giving Tuesday

Whether you’re attending a fundraiser, volunteering your time, or even helping a neighbor get to a doctor’s appointment, lives are improved through small and large acts of kindness. Whatever form your service takes, share with others on social media by using the hashtag #GivingTuesday.

Our communities are made better when we all work together. Cochlear wishes you and yours a very happy holiday season.

Cochlear Americas
We’re the people who help people hear. We invented the world’s first multi-channel cochlear implant over 30 years ago, which has evolved into our Cochlear™ Nucleus® System today. Later, we added a bone conduction implant, the Cochlear Baha® System, to our treatment options, so we could help care for more people with hearing loss. And now, with the Cochlear™ Nucleus® Hybrid Implant System, we can help individuals missing high-frequency sounds who may not have had an effective treatment option available to them.
