Today there is an app for everything—for streaming TV shows, editing photos, ordering food, and even checking your bank account. But did you know that there are apps to control your sound processor wirelessly through your iPhone®?

The Baha 5 Smart App and the new Nucleus Smart App for N7 are easy-to-use resources that allow you to adjust volume, create custom hearing programs, monitor your processor’s battery level, and even locate your device.

For McKenna N., a Baha 5 Power recipient, the Baha 5 Smart App is a part of everyday life.

She uses it to hear in crowded environments, take calls, and stream music straight from her iPhone to her processor.

“I really like using it a lot because of all the awesome features, (such as) making my own custom settings and how easy it is for me to connect the app to my Baha,” McKenna said. “I think what helps me the most in my daily life is having the notifications on my iPhone go directly to my processor … and not have to worry about anyone else hearing it.”

She said she appreciates being able to switch between settings and adjust her hearing in different environments. Whether it’s a lecture hall, a smaller classroom, or a one-on-one conversation, she can easily catch sounds.

McKenna also enjoys streaming music straight from her iPhone to her processor.

“Technically I could listen to music in class and no one would know,” she said jokingly.

If McKenna ever lost her processor, the app includes a feature that allows users to track the location of a lost or misplaced sound processor.

“Luckily, I haven’t had to use it, but it’s nice to have peace of mind when I’m working with my students,” McKenna said. “It makes me more confident that if it did fall off or I couldn’t find it, that I would be able to use the app to help me find it.”

McKenna said her favorite feature of the Baha 5 Power is being able to connect it to her iPhone wirelessly.

“(I love) being able to hear iPhone calls, notifications on my iPhone, music, videos, and everything,” she said.
